有報導指梳爾需要休戰半年.....曼聯後衛勞基梳爾在早前與PSV燕豪芬的歐聯小組賽事受傷，他被對方後衛希達摩蘭奴凶狠攔截以致腿骨斷裂，在場內治理了大約10分鐘便由擔架抬離場，當時更需要戴上氧氣罩。
紅魔領隊雲高爾表示「梳爾被送入更衣室時他在痛哭」；梳爾亦在Twitter上表示「自己的痛非筆墨能夠形容」。
梳爾斷腳事件發生後，體壇不少健將也在社交網站向這名英格蘭球員送上祝福，當中包括英國網球手梅利，而「肇事者」摩蘭奴亦是當中之一。
